Mumbai: A minor fire erupted on-board INS Pralaya, a missile vessel, docked at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported. However, material called lagging, continued to simmer. The fire was reported in the gyro compartment and was subsequently brought under control with the assistance of Dockyard fire brigade and no injuries were reported.” Mr Sinha said, “fire broke out when welding and cutting activity was underway onboard the vessel. According to defence spokesperson, the fire was brought under control by the Dockyard fire brigade within few minutes after it broke out.”Mr Sinha said, “It did not take very long to control the fire, only the material continued to simmer due to heat.”. It was brought under control within a few minutes.The fire broke out when China Double Jacket Hose welding and cutting activity was underway onboard the vessel. The ship is currently undergoing repair at the dockyard. The fire erupted at a place on the vessel which is slightly inaccessible and which is why it took time to bring it under control.Rahul Sinha, the defence spokesperson, said, “There was a minor fire on-board INS Pralaya, a missile vessel which is undergoing repair at Naval Dockyard Mumbai.
